Launching of project ' LIGHT FOR THOUSAND EYES '
Dakshina Theertha in Association with Sankara Nethralaya Medical Research Foundation, Chennai lausnched a project titled ‘Light for Thousand Eyes’ to provide 1000 free cataract surgeries for the poor and needy.
To mobilize fund for the project, ‘Dakshinaa’ organized a mega musical programme of immortal melodies of legendary play back singer Mohammed Rafi“Ragam Sudarshanam”on 21st June 2008 at Kamaraj Arangam, Chennai. Performance of gifted singers like Anil Bajpai, Jayachandran, Swetha Mohan etc were the attraction of the musical event.

The project helped a number of poor people to restore their vision by undergoing free surgeries at Saturday.
The project still open for the deserving people. Dakshinaa invite nominations from any one for availing the benefit of the project ‘Light for Thousand Eyes’. The only criteria for availing benefit under this project is the beneficiary should be a BPL ration card holder.
